Getting to Bangladesh isn’t the most straight forward trip from the US, much less the Caribbean. When booking my flight I needed to balance cost with time. My priorities were to arrive in Bangladesh at the same time as the rest of the team and spend as little time traveling as possible while accomplishing those things in as cost effective manner as I could. As a result, my flight path looks like this:
I depart Grand Cayman on Friday the 10th. I fly for an hour to Nassau Bahamas. We have an hour layover there (but I can just stay on the plane), then a 10 hour flight to London. I have a 4 hour layover at Heathrow then take off for Doha, Qatar. I have about a 3 hour layover there, I link up with the rest of the team from the States, then around 2am Doha time, travel 6 hours to Dhaka, Bangladesh arriving around 10:30am Sunday morning, or around 11:30pm Saturday night EST.
The return is identical, except instead of taking off on Friday and landing on Sunday (losing Saturday), I start chasing the sun and depart on Saturday evening, landing Sunday evening in Cayman.
I’ll be packing my eye shades and some melatonin…
